The steps to joining The Kensington Redondo Beach family
Step 1
Check our careers page and apply to one of our open positions! Interested in something that isn’t listed? Contact us with your resume and we’ll reach out if something becomes available.
Step 2
Interview with our team! Join us at our community for an interview with the Manager of Team Member Services and Hiring Manager. This interview allows you to decide if we’re the right fit for you and for us to decide if your skills and values align with ours.
Prepare for questions that gauge your experience, knowledge, and passion for healthcare. Applicants are also encouraged to ask questions about the role, responsibilities, and culture of The Kensington Redondo Beach.
Step 3
Shadow a team member for a job preview! Spend 1 hour with a current team member in the role you’re applying for. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet our residents, and see if The Kensington Redondo Beach is a good fit for you.
Step 4
Interview with the Executive Director to share your professional experiences, career goals, and interest for becoming a part of our team. Learn about our Kensington story and what it’s like at The Kensington Redondo Beach.
Step 5
Begin your hiring paperwork with Manager of Team Member Services! This will include a background check and medical screening before you can begin your training.
Medical screenings
As part of the onboarding process at The Kensington Redondo Beach, and as is the industry standard, applicants are required to undergo essential medical screenings.
These screenings are important as they assess the physical health and overall well-being of applicants, ensuring their ability to fulfill their responsibilities effectively while prioritizing the safety of residents.
One of the commonly conducted medical screenings is the Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease primarily affecting the lungs, and it is crucial to identify any potential cases among healthcare workers to prevent its transmission within the community.
Applicants are typically directed to local healthcare facilities, such as Patient First or similar clinics, to undergo this important test.
Time to start training: Safety tour and orientation
At The Kensington Redondo Beach, the safety and well-being of our esteemed team members and residents are of utmost importance.
Our 2-day New Hire Orientation begins with a community tour with our Director of Environmental Services. You’ll learn how to move around the community and our emergency practices.
You will become familiar with protocols, evacuation procedures, and the critical steps to safeguarding the well-being of our residents.
Depending on the position and responsibilities, new hires may be provided with keys, a fob for access control, and a name tag.
New hires will learn about the unique aspects of our community’s core values, human resource policies, the compassionate “Kensington Way” of caring, environmental services, health and wellness programs, dining services, rehabilitation services, and sales and marketing overviews.
Throughout the New Hire Orientation, each Director or Manager will teach you about their department, their role, and how we all work together to live Our Promise and provide the best care possible for our residents.
