REDONDO BEACH, CA, Aug. 31, 2020 – A free, interactive, virtual seminar on a new approach to the care of older adults will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3. Sponsored by The Kensington Redondo Beach, the one-hour session will cover a concept called Whole Person Care from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (PDT). It is part of The Kensington’s “Q & A: Ask the Expert” series in partnership with Providence Health & Services California.
The seminar features Dr. Glen Komatsu, M.D., the Chief Medical Officer at Providence TrinityCare Hospice and Regional Palliative Care. The event will be moderated by Terri Warren, Chief, Hospice & Palliative Care, Providence Home and Community Care.
“Whole Person Care is an approach to healthcare for seniors that is designed to address every human being as an individual with unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs,” says Robert May, Executive Director. “Those who attend this seminar will learn how this new medical specialty provides quality of life for those in its care and their family members.”
Dr. Komatsu practices palliative care and hospice for children and adults. He graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After practicing neonatology for 20 years at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, he pursued an Adult Palliative Care Fellowship at Harvard.
